EP // Elk – First Love

Let’s get one thing straight – “aggressive pop” is a terrible way to describe one’s music, but in the case of London’s Elk, what it actually signifies is far from terrible – in practice, their “aggressive” pop is rooted in the mathier indie rocks of the American Midwest in the 90’s, with start-stop dynamics, impassioned speak-singing and fluxuations into gentler pop strokes reminiscent of early-aughts British groups like Electric Soft Parade. In their rawest moments, they also sound a bit like Electric Soft Parade’s bratty younger brother Brakes.

Them boys is offering  their recent EP First Love on a pay-what-you-will basis over on The Bandcamps.
