ALBUM // Yamantaka // Sonic Titan – YT//ST

It seems unnecessary to write anything about the work of a band that’s already labeled themselves both “Noh Wave” and “Iroquois Core,” but as I want you to hear this thundering, kaleidoscopic music that rewrites history to entirely erase the lines between (Post-)Punk and Prog, I feel obliged to add my bit, so here it is:

You may be familiar with the scene from Alfonso Cuarón’s Children of Men (2006) in which Clive Owen is being driven to the Ark of the Arts while “In The Court of the Crimson King” plays on the soundtrack. This album would be perfect music to accompany re-entry into the outside world, Owen in a half-dazed state, memories of the European cultural canon mingling with the grimy, messy, post-post-Colonial future that lays all bout.

YT//ST (so much for our hip title formatting) can be purchased as CD, LP or digital file collection, and you can pay for it with Canadian dollars.
